Student Health Services - Primary Care


We are a team of dedicated professionals who provide confidential health care services to LBCC students. Our primary care staff includes Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Health Technicians. Mental Health Services are provided by professionals licensed in Clinical Psychology, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy.

Our Mission and Vision

LBCC Student Health Services (SHS) supports student success by providing quality and accessible primary care and mental health services and education.

Student Health Services is attentive to the diverse health needs of LBCC Students. We partner with the City of Long Beach and the surrounding community to provide comprehensive clinical services to students. We engage students in making informed decisions about their health care, empowering them to be self-directed health care consumers. And we integrate health education into all aspects of the college.

Primary Care Services Provided:

California State law requires all students to pay a $19 health care fee per semester. This fee is used to fund on-campus health services and to protect students in the event of an on-campus accident. The following primary care services are FREE:

  • Urgent Care
  • UTI Testing
  • Pregnancy Test
  • STI Testing (LB Department of Public Health)
  • Birth Control Counseling
  • Stop Smoking/Substance Abuse Education
  • Over the Counter Medication
  • Health Care Referrals

Services Available for Below-Market Costs:
  • Immunizations (Flu, Hepatitis B and Tdap vaccines)
  • Physical Exams
  • Glucose, Cholesterol and Hemoglobin Tests
  • Prescription Discounts
  • Outpatient Laboratory Testing
